This thread is an explanatory bit. For anyone who wants to make any RPs based off of Vampire (The World Of Darkness RPG), it is recommended that you provide a link to this thread for people to brush up on their terminology.
Chapter I: Basic Terminology Chapter II: Special Abilities Chapter III: The Clans Chapter IV: Character Sheet
Please take note that Chapter IV is optional. This is for if you want to be more "by the book." It's a modified sheet from the actual game itself that runs off a more D&D-esque engine.

Chatper I: Basic Terminology
Embrace: Embracing is the art of making a human into a Kindred. Every Kindred has a claw-like nail on their pinky finger of the hand they write with to open the skin of a creature and drink the blood (Or in the case of opening Kindred skin, Vitae). To embrace a human the Kindred must drain them to point of near death then allow the human to drink their Vitae.
Vitae: Vampires bleed, believe it or not. Vitae is a form of "mock blood" so to speak and is the substance that runs through the veins of all Kindred. Vitae can be expended just like blood as well. Lose too much and you'll go into Topor. To replenish Vitae you need off of living, mortal life forms.
Topor: Topor is a form of hibernation. When a Kindred loses too much Vitae they can go into Topor. Topor can last anywhere from 100 years to eternity. Kindred can be forced out of Topor if they taste the blood of a mortal creature OR the Vitae of a fellow Kindred.
Masquerade: The Masquerade is a code of laws/commandments that help the Kindred keep their existance from the humans a secret. The first rule of the Masquerade states "Take only what you need and nothing more." This refers to feeding. Drink the blood until you're full then STOP.
Blush Of Life: The Blush Of Life is used by Kindred as a healing technique. While normally pale in appearance, Kindred can "blush" and allow themselves to obtain a human skintone. This will drain a little of their Vitae but it will heal any and all injures they have sustained.
Daylight Myth: The idea that Kindred will die if they ever set foot in the sunlight is a complete myth. While the sun can be deadly to Kindred they can go out anytime of day. Feeding will increase the odds of staying out during daylight hours longer. Going out in daylight will, however, decrease the effects of feeding and Kindred who stay out longer will need to feed sooner.

Chapter II: Special Abilites
The following abilites are bestowed upon all Kindred who RP here. Anybody who knows the book of Vampire may choose to add abilities to their RPs if they wish.
Blush Of Life: All Kindred have the Blush Of Life. Check Chapter I of this thread to see what it is.
Shape Of The Beast: This ability allows Kindred to shapeshift into any ordinary animal. The two most common are wolf and bat, though wolf is more often found. When shifting into one of these they gain special abilites which is why they are so popular (Wolf shapeshifts gain increased speed and senses, while bat shifts gain sonar sense and flight).
Entrancement: This ability reveals itself to a Kindred randomly and almost takes the most time to be found. When their eyes glow red, the Kindred may command a human to do whatever it wishes Example: Lassen stood behind the coroner, his eyes glowing and he whispered "Pick up the scalpel and slash your wrists." The coroner, as if in a trance, found the shiny blade in his hand as he began to bleed himself dry.

Chapter III: The Bloodlines
While Kindred can form clans that commune together there are five "written in stone clans" called Bloodlines. The bloodlines are considered clans in themselves among Kindred. There are five major clans of the Kindred and a few sub clans but to shadow the basics we will merely go over the five main ones.
Ventrue: The Ventrue ALWAYS win. They are political and debonair in every way. They tend to dress black tie and always use verbal charm to win their arguments. Most Kindred of the Ventrue have jobs like CEO, Rave Promoter, Realtor, Society Matron, etc.
Davea: The Daeva are probably the most attractive of all Kindred. Other Kindred are envious of their beauty and grace. Most Daeva clan members are considered to be sexy and delicious in the eyes of humans. They can be excellent seducers. They are also known (At least by the other clans) as Succubi. Most Daeva jobs include: cult leader, serial killer, club hopper, socialite, etc.
Gangrel: The modestly hot cousins of Clan Daeva. Gangrel are almost as good looking as the Daeva are. The Gangrel are predators among predators and are feared by the other clans. They are savages among their own kind. Most Gangrel jobs include: body guards, archeologists, mercenaries, nomads, zookeepers, etc.
Mekhet: While most Vampires are considered creatures of the night, none embrace that title more than the Mekhet. The odds of EVER seeing a member of the Mekhet bloodline in daylight is slim to none. Mekhets can be seen as stereotypical "goths" or "emos" in the eyes of other Kindred. Most Mekhet jobs include: antiquities scholar, assassin, policeman, etc.
Nosferatu: Every society has outcasts. Even the Kindred. Clan Nosferatu are the outcasts of Kindred society. While most Nosferatu have a heart, they are hideously deformed and come off looking like horrible zombies while some are permanently bald to others have facial deformities. The Nosferatu are cast aside by most Kindred of other clans. Most Nosferatu jobs include: bogeyman, circus freak, petty theif, etc.
Please use the "Job Concepts" of the clan you chose as examples to build your character around. While not all Kindred have jobs or are of legal working age these are ideas you can play with to create your Kindred in more than one dimension.

Chapter IV: Character Sheet
This is a modified character sheet that is optional for use. Feel free to make your own sheets based what you want your RP to be about.
For the stats, roll a six sided dice five times, discard the lowest roll and add the numbers together. Do this for each attribute then distribute them where you want them. You have 9 attributes in all.
Basic Info Player: Your Name Name: Characters Name Bloodline: What clan/bloodline do they hail from Vitue: What virtue does your character stand by? Vice: Which of the seven deadly sins does your character indulge most?
Stats/Attributes Power Intelligence: Strength: Presence:
Finesse Wits: Dexterity: Manipulation:
Resistance Resolve: Stamina: Composure:
Other Traits Disciplines: What special abilites does your Kindred currently know? Each discipline costs Vitae to use Equipment: What does your character currently have on his/her person? Health: How long it will take for your character to reach Final Death (No coming back) Willpower: How much Willpower you have? This stops you from doing dangerous/illegal/deadly/etc things. Vitae: A form of blood that can be used to do things. Losing Vitae risks putting you in Topor. If your Vitae is zero then you lose health gradually. Blood Potency: (I dunno how to explain this. Will an Admin or Mod please explain Blood Potency for me). The more BP you have the more Vitae you can store in your body. Size: Small, medium or large? Experience: If you do combat with people, Kindred, creatures, etc you will gain experience. The more you gain the stronger you become.
This sheet is for Kindred only. Humans in actual Vampire RPs are NPCs. A few things have been excluded from the character sheet as they will be unneeded here in the Wasteland. NOTE: Sometimes an Admin or Mod might start an actual Vampire Chronicle. If that's the case then this sheet is a requirement to be used.
