We hate them, but you gotta follow them.
Basically, I'm going to be lax in the forum rules, but as long as we keep the boards a PG-13 level, I'll be fine with it. If someone is observed breaking the rules normally set in a forum site, I'm going to give them one warning.
This warning could include a three hour ban, or just a verbal warning. If this person breaks the rules a second time, they're going to get banned until further notice. I will not tolerate infractions, as it messes up everything for everyone.
Here is a link to the Terms of Service if anyone should need a reference: Proboards ToS
As for roleplay rules, do your best to follow these:
1. God-moding, power-playing and auto-hitting will NOT be tolerated. If you want to do any of those actions, I suggest that you take it elsewhere. The posts of the roleplay will be scanned, and the moment you are seen doing any one of these actions, you will have an immediate ban. Complaints will be ignored.
2. Romance is encouraged, but cybering will not be tolerated as it is against the forum's Terms of Service. Some of our users probably do read our posts and find it as an enjoyment. To find degradation in the posts themselves probably sickens the readers. Next time you're thinking about it. Find a different site that doesn't care about what your actions in a roleplay lead to. But be sensible. If you're not going to be smart about the roleplay's rules, then don't bother joining.
3. Literacy is a must. You've read plenty of books and it isn't that hard to type out words and place them in a novel format. It helps your fellow roleplayers to understand what you're getting at, without the confusion of using action symbols normally used in an instant message or even a text message.
4. Every roleplay has OoC, but it does tend to get confusing when it isn't related to the roleplay. Use the proper symbols ( (( or [[ ) when you aren't in character. But cut down on it please. The letters RP stand for roleplay, and that is what we do in an RP. Information should be sent through the PM system. It may be slow, but it is reliable. If you're going away, or just won't be on, let myself or one of the staff know. We'll take care of everything while you are away.
5. There will be a character profile thread, just follow the profile skeleton to get an idea of how to modify your character. Once finished, let a moderator know when you are finished and let them look your profile over.
6. Don't send in a profile and expect to just post for a day or two then leave. Your profile will be gone by then, and you will not be allowed to post. There will be a time limit on how long you can go without posting. For now, it will be set on a three day basis, and on the third day, you will have a PM sent to you.
7. Be respectful to your fellow roleplayers in the RP. Not everyone in the roleplay has the same thoughts, and they have their bad days. Just be supportive of the roleplayers in this RP. I didn't create it to have people drop out. I created it to have people enjoy themselves. Oh, do not give people information they do not want. It's rude and you will have very little respect from them.
8. If we can all follow these rules without problems, then there will be no need for anger between us. Now, get out there, post and enjoy yourself.
